Animal-Assisted Therapy
50-minutes|$160
Our relationship with animals is instinctual and motivated by our strong desire to connect with others. With strong evidence from researchers across professions, animal-assisted therapy can provide benefits to just about anyone and it can be incorporated into individual or relational therapy.
Canine-assisted therapy involves at least three parties: you, me, and my professional therapy dog, August. In our work together, we can focus on your sense of comfort, self-esteem, safety, mindfulness, and playfulness. Having an animal in the room can help you feel more comfortable, provide an outlet for fidgeting and moving, increase confidence in humane handling, and promote a strong sense of humor! Animals also serve as a catalyst for relationship-building between you, your therapy team, and your partner or family.
